Making Picture Time with Kids a BLAST!

How to not only survive your photo session with little kids but also make it FUN!

Mindset is everything. Start by taking the stress of capturing the perfect photo off your shoulders. Picture this, you are at your park with your kiddos playing all their favorite games and activities. Hide & Seek, Peek a boo and so on. Remember with that environment feels like with entering your session and carry that over. Just enjoy the time and make space for the same relaxed play time. Children are naturally wonderful at having a great time when give them the space to.

As a photographer when I tell my clients this and they take my advice and they run with it, it makes the quality of their photos 100% better. I tend to shy away from posing little ones because they can't stand still and let's be honest if I were to tell them to smile, they wouldn't. Rather I play into their strengths, their tendance for laughter & goofiness. Their ability for imagination! ("Try flying together like Tinker Bell, hide from the dinosaurs around the corner, play with an invisible puppy with mom & dad, show me how strong you are by giving your parents a big hug!") Actives like this that are not only encourage by the photographer, but the parents as well are sure to completely change your typically family photography experience! Guaranteed!!!
